The ASRHS Drama Club will be hosting their 3rd annual tag sale fundraiser this weekend, on Saturday, May 25, from 9:00am-4:00pm at the high school.  We hope that you can come out and support the Drama Club.

From Athletic Director, Steve Kendall,

A big thank you to everyone for their support of Unified Track. Yesterday's Central Massachusetts meet went amazingly well. There were numerous PRs by our student-athletes, we won a number of events, and all the kids were talking and making friends with kids from other schools. Assabet Valley was a tremendous host (and their turf field and track facility is amazing).

I cannot thank Paula Gastonguay, Matt Lehtonen, Kevin Hadmack, Meghan Guthrie, Hannah Levensailor, and Nate Diffin enough for their dedication to the kids and the program. Thanks to Dr. Malone, Mr. Caliri, Mrs. Bozek, Mr. Christie and Dr. Meyer for their unwavering support as well.Leominster AD Dave Palazzi was a big supporter as well, and we thank him and Kevin for their efforts for getting unified going at their school as well. Kevin did yeoman work, not only organizing things on Leominster's end but also driving the kids to and from practice and meets. Thank you, Kevin! We don't have the program we have without your efforts! As a graduate of Leominster, I appreciate all you and Dave did to help get this program off the ground and for bringing the world of unified sports to the students of Leominster High.

We will know in the coming days which student-athletes will qualify for the state meet in Milford next week. Regardless of how many qualify, everyone should be proud of the role they played in bringing unified sports to Ayer Shirley and Leominster. Let's keep growing this program!

Thanks to all!

U.S. News and World Report
ASRHS has once again been ranked a BEST high school by U.S News. For 2019, U.S. News ranked nationwide 17,000 public high schools out of a review of more than 23,000 in all 50 states including the District of Columbia. The high school ranked #2,539 (top 14%) in the national rankings. It ranked #107 (top 27%) out of 395 high schools in Massachusetts. The high school received an overall score of 85.28 out of 100.

We continue to push students to graduate meeting MassCore requirements. Our growth in student participation in AP courses and student performance on the exams is another metric by which we achieved high scores in our ranking.

“The highest-ranked schools are those whose students excelled on state tests and performed beyond expectations; participated in and passed a variety of college-level exams; and graduated in high proportions. U.S. News assigned numerical ranks to schools performing in the top 75%. Schools performing below the 25th percentile are listed alphabetically with a ranking range.”

We have been named a BEST high school in the last three of the four years. Congratulations to the students, faculty, and parents!
